While on Oak Island, visit the Oak Island Lighthouse and drive through the Civil War Fort at Caswell. If golf is on your mind, there is a great course on the island at Oak Island Golf Course also in Caswell. There are plenty of nearby golf courses in Brunswick County, so you can play a different one every day if you like. Oak Island is minutes away from historic Southport where you will find plenty of unique shops, antique shops, restaurants, ice cream, history, and more.
