Living/dining/kitchen area: This exquisite vaulted ceiling room occupies the entire front half of the first level. Centered sliding glass doors open onto a wide deck spanning the house and overlooking a front yard of low cedars and elaeagnus that border the Topsail Island strand. Flanking the sliders are generously-sized picture windows, reaching nearly to the floor, that expand your ocean view. A magnificent stone fireplace, complete with gas logs, stands at the rear of this room, its chimney ascending beautifully through the second level to the vaulted ceiling there. Exposed beams in a warm brown pine add to the lofty and open, yet cozy, feel of this beachfront home.

Living area (first level): Furnishings include a soft blue recliner, a light blue swivel rattan rocker, a blue-striped occasional chair, and a sink-into-forever plush papa-san chair in mauve, green, blue, and ecru. One light blue painted wall and a rectangular rug in graduated blue shades tie the arrangement together. A tall ecru lamp on the rattan glass-topped end table and a set of pine shelves holding a flat-screen TV/DVD/VCR and Bose CD player and radio complete the setting.

Dining area/kitchen (first level): The polished blond oak round table is surrounded by darker oak chairs, and two bar stools at the bar behind the table offer more seating. A simply elegant white dropped chandelier lights the table area.

Bright and clean white is the order of the day in this neat kitchen, in both the appliances and the generous stock of dinnerware and bakeware inside the ample cabinets. There is a double cast iron sink, built-in microwave over the range, dishwasher, two-slice toaster, teakettle, coffeemaker, and a complete set of every kitchen knife you could ever need, plus steak knives for those great ribeyes you'll grill for dinner one night.

Bedroom 1 (first level): Down the hall from the front living area, you'll find this cozy room with its king-sized bed covered in warm and snuggly dark rose velour. A dark pine night table holds an ecru lamp, and the matching four-drawer chest holds the television and a light rose lamp. The closet has handy vertical shelving, and a pair of extra wide windows let in plenty of sunshine.

Bedroom 2 (first level): The two single beds here are covered in soft and nubby white spreads, with a pair of rectangular rugs in three shades of blue adding the perfect accent to the narrow oak flooring. A pine night table holds a coordinating blue lamp, and there is a matching three-drawer pine chest, as well as a TV/VCR. This bedroom also has a pair of wide windows on the side and rear and a closet equipped with vertical shelving.

Bedrooms 1 and 2 share a hall bath with an extra-wide vanity and mirror, tub/shower combo, and linen closet stocked with books and videos.

Bedroom 3 (top level): This spacious hideaway is located at the rear of Wright Choice's top level and boasts its own private rear deck, accessible through sliding glass doors covered with vertical blinds. The king-sized bed is covered in softest blue velour, and an elegant ceiling fan with five wide leaf-shaped blades descends from the vaulted ceiling above. There's copious closet space along one entire wall, and a pine cheval mirror and free-standing pine coat rack that can be used to stash beach towels or robes. A flower-filled glass lamp sits atop the four-drawer pine chest; twin rattan night tables hold ivory lamps with white shades.

The hall bath on this level includes an extra-wide vanity and mirror with a handy wall-mounted extended-arm magnifying mirror, a tub/shower combo, and 10 convenient hanging pegs on the back of the door.

Top level seating area: As soon as you ascend the pine steps from the first level to the top level, you'll find a convenient nook furnished with a desk, telephone, and lamp. An open railed catwalk leading to your right takes you to a perfectly perched seating area at the front of the house. A pair of blue striped chairs sit before sliding glass doors that lead to a private deck that offers incredible views of the beach and ocean. Flanking the doors are triangular windows that expand the view, and a pair of smaller triangular windows atop the sliders let in more sunshine. Eight exposed pine beams run from the front to the rear of the house on this level.

Other amenities: One side of the ground level is an enclosed garage; the other side offers covered parking. At the rear of this area, there is an enclosed hot and cold shower with seating area. A gas grill is furnished, as are a generous supply of beach chairs. Entrance to the house may be gained from outside steps that lead to the oceanfront first level deck or from the covered parking area; at this entrance, you'll find the laundry room and steps to the main house.
