The Sands is a quintessential beach cottage. Relax on the long spacious deck that reaches out over the dunes. Enjoy oceanfront dining at the picnic table on the screened porch overlooking the beach and crystal blue ocean. What a fabulous view! And the soothing waves: Once you've experienced the sounds of the sea rocking you to sleep, you'll never want to leave.

Lower Level:The concrete drive looks like it was built into the dune with beach grass on each side.There is carport parking for 2 underneath and additional parking for 2 in the driveway.

Main Level:The front staircase from the drive leads up to a screened porch with a royal blue outdoor table set with 4 chairs. Enjoy a casual dinner with views of the beach and ocean.Entering into the kitchen and great room you'll find a horseshoe shaped kitchen to the left that is open to the Great Room. Lavender cabinets have been painted creatively with adorable pictures and words to help vacationers know what the cabinet contains. A long bar has seating for 3 on swivel high back oak barstools. A built in cutting board is conveniently located next to the stove. Appliances include a refrigerator, dishwasher, washer and dryer. The fully stocked kitchen also has a microwave, blender, double toaster, and coffee maker. In the center of the room is the dining table with seating for six. The walls are a lovely light blue, matching magnificently with the bright colors elsewhere in the house. Along the right wall is a large built in bookshelf with lower cabinets painted margarita green and adorned with more artwork indicating the cabinets' contents. A large selection of VHS movies is provided as well as an assortment of board games. A stereo receiver and CD player are centrally located for optimum sound. Choose a novel from the selection of books above. This cheerful room really sets the beach mood and makes you feel like a kid again. The living area enjoys ocean views and is arranged in front of the large sliding door. The black futon sofa, loveseat, and chair provide a nice contrast to the bright colors of the room. The oversized low level coffee table is ideal for playing board games. Gather round and let the fun begin. A television with DVD player is set in the corner for your viewing pleasure. A blend of beach, Hawaiian, and 50s style decor makes for an entertaining, fun space. Walk straight out to the screened oceanfront porch which leads further out to the deck over the beach. Spanning the length of the house, the deck wraps around to the south and features stairs that lead directly to the beach. One of the shortest walks to the beach on the island!Bedroom 1 - The Elvis Room:The first bedroom on the left is for Elvis fans everywhere. There is Elvis memorabilia on the walls, leopard print curtains and chair, and a black bedspread on the queen size bed. The walls are dark khaki which matches well with the decor. A television and VHS player are on a small table next to the dresser and can be enjoyed from the comfort of the bed. This bedroom shares a full bathroom with the ocean front bedroom.

Bedroom 2 - The Jazz Room:Jazz memorabilia decorates the walls and dark blue curtains and a blue star and moon print comforter are reminiscent of a clear night sky. The king size bed has ocean views through the windows. Periwinkle blue walls are soft yet lively. The shared full bath is on the left past the television.

Bedroom 3 - The Country Room:This oceanfront bedroom on the right side of the house has ocean and beach views from both windows. The queen size bed with its multi-colored country quilt fits right in amongst the country pictures, dark wood dresser, and television stand. This bedroom shares a full bath with the fourth bedroom on the west side.

Bedroom 4 - The Woodstock Room:The two twin beds, celebrating Woodstock, are appropriately covered with bright rainbow tie-dyed comforters. A Woodstock poster is framed over the bed. Painted in a cheerful yellow with dark green curtains, the predominant colors of the room are red, green and yellow. A low dresser and mirror are on the south wall and the shared full bath is just past the bookcase. Even the bathroom has beach and ocean views!

This home is a wonderful escape from the norm. The Sands will make you feel like a kid again. The rustic porch with its wooden rockers gives you that warm fuzzy feeling of yesteryear. And to top it off, like the cherry on a sundae, The Sands is Oceanfront. Let the sound of the waves rolling over the sand lull you to sleep this vacation.

Your check-in location is our Surf City office. Linens are not provided. Pets are permitted with a pet fee of $125 plus tax. Smoking is not permitted in the property. Maximum occupancy is 8 at any time. Your check-in time is 3:30 pm unless you have confirmed and paid the early bird check-in option. Please be sure we have received complete payment within 30 days of your arrival to avoid cancellation.
