Inside, living quarters and two bedrooms occupy the first level, with three oceanfront bedrooms on the top level.

Living/dining area: A trio of matching floral sofas in dark mauve, green, and honey provide plenty of seating in this living/dining area that occupies the entire front of the first level. Cuddle up with the pair of green checked pillows tossed on each sofa and enjoy the amazing view, or have a movie night with the TV/DVD/VCR combination. Neutral patterned Berber carpet, eggshell walls, and pleated drapes on the sliding glass door to the deck add to the cozy feel of this room. Shell-filled lamps, an arrangement of silk hydrangeas, and seascape prints complete the homey décor.

From the oval butcher-block top dining room table, you'll always have an ocean view, either from the triple window on the front of the house or the double window on the side. Eight oak-seat chairs with white curved spindle backs offer plenty of seating. Should you need more, there are five barstools at the generously proportioned bar between the dining area and kitchen.

Kitchen: This U-shaped kitchen has all the cabinet and counter space you could possibly need for preparing anything from a yummy shrimp boil to a complex five-course gourmet dinner. There's a double stainless sink, handy cutting board, blender, toaster oven, oval slow cooker, wide four-slice toaster, electric can opener, programmable coffeemaker, and microwave, in addition to standard appliances.Open the door between the dining area and kitchen, by the end of bar, and step out onto a walkway that leads to both the front deck and the rear parking area, making for convenient trips to the car for provisions. You'll also find a clever double clothesline for beach towels and wet swimsuits just off the handrail.

Bedroom 1 (first level): Oyster walls provide the perfect backdrop for the turquoise, mauve, and peach swirl quilt on the king-sized bed, as well as the pair of lavender and mauve tulip prints above the headboard. Twin white night tables flank the bed, one holding a shell-filled lamp with a turquoise shade, the other a brown lamp and AM/FM clock radio. There's a triple dresser, a low chest with a wide wall mirror, generous closet space, and double windows with horizontal blinds. The adjoining bath, which also opens onto the hall, is set off by a color block floral shower curtain in burgundy, mauve, green, and ecru over the tub/shower combo. This coordinates perfectly with the textured wallpaper of burgundy and green plaid. A wide mirror hangs over the vanity, and an open linen closet with four shelves provides plenty of space for all those beach towels.

Bedroom 2 (first level): A floral spread in mauve, green, and ecru adorns the queen-sized bed here, set before a pair of windows that let the Topsail Island sun shine in. There's a TV atop the handy chest of drawers, an AM/FM clock radio and shell-filled lamp on the night table, and plenty of extra blankets and pillows in the closet.

Bedroom 3 (top level): Step through the sliding glass doors of this oceanfront room onto a deck that spans the upper level and offers awesome views of Topsail Island's sand and sea. Inside, two queen-sized beds are dressed in lavender, yellow, blue, and sea green spreads. Two coordinating blue lamps perch on the triple mirrored dresser, which, along with the chest on chest and ample closet, offers plenty of space to stow your beachwear. There's a TV, and the night table holds an AM/FM clock radio as well as a lamp.A skylight lets the island sun into the adjoining bath, which features glass doors on the tub/shower combo, an ecru vanity with wide mirror, and lovely blue and gold striped wallpaper.

Bedroom 4 (top level): This oceanfront bedroom occupies the middle of Pelican Landing's top level. Pleated ecru drapes add a nice touch to the sliding glass doors that open onto the deck and coordinate well with the neutral metallic quilt-stitched spread on the queen-sized bed. There is a low triple dresser with a wall mirror and a convenient closet. A sand dune print over the bed and a shell-filled lamp on the night table provide perfect decorating accents.

Bedroom 5 (top level) : The third top-level oceanfront bedroom contains a queen-sized bed and a twin bed. Over the queen, a pair of botanical prints with accents of warm amber, gold, green, and white coordinates nicely with a silk magnolia arrangement on the adjoining wall. Twin wooden lamps with ecru shades accent the double dresser. A matching chest holds a television, and there is a roomy closet.The adjoining bath features a whimsical fish border between the vanity and mirror, sea green marbled wallpaper, a tub/shower combo with glass doors, and a skylight.

Other amenities: Ample parking for three vehicles is under the house, along with a charcoal grill. A washer and dryer are located off the first level hallway.
