You will love spending your next Topsail Island vacation at Best Friends, an absolutely gorgeous beachfront duplex that offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and plenty of room for the whole family and all of their friends.

Living area (top level): The vaulted ceiling living and dining area stretch across the entire front of this very spacious home, with sliding glass doors opening onto the incredible deck. Double windows, festooned with blue balloon valances, on either side of the sliders expand your view. Comfort and relaxation are the order of the day here, with the softest pine sofa and loveseat in blue, white, and yellow stripes beckoning you to unwind and put your feet up on the coordinating blue ottoman. The coolest lamp in the world spreads its five fan-like arms over this seating area, rather like palm fronds bearing light. There will probably be a fight for the gigantic blue overstuffed sofa chair, with its own matching blue ottoman; this is the perfect place for a nap by the sea. A leather recliner is positioned nearby as well, and throw pillows for cozying upā€”some striped, some solid blue, some floralā€”are everywhere. There are even giant blue and white plaid floor pillows, and plenty of floor space to spread out with them, for those that love stretching out on the floor to watch TV. One corner is occupied by the entertainment center, where you'll find the TV/DVD/VCR, plenty of books and videos, and a delightful collection of decorative pieces: sea turtles, a glass barometer, framed shell art, pottery, candles, a basket of shells.

Dining area (top level): Eight spindle-back chairs with blue cushions that match the living room furniture surround the lovely large oval dining table to the right of the top level. The centerpiece will command everyone's attention: It's a shallow sand-cast bowl with a rim of embossed seashells holding huge whelks, nautilus, starfish, and cone shells colored peach and turquoise and oyster. Nearby, a lovely print of sandpipers cruising the beach provides the perfect finishing touch.

Kitchen (top level): Plenty of clean and pristine white countertops here will give you all the room you need for preparing gourmet meals or simple sandwiches. There's a toaster oven, coffeemaker, wide four-slice toaster, electric can opener, white side-by-side refrigerator/freezer with ice and water in the door, and dishwasher. A blue tea kettle on the range coordinates nicely with a collection of beautiful blue bottles on top of the cabinets. You'll love the bar with its four tall spindle-back bar chairs and the recessed ceiling lighting.

Bedroom 1 (top level): This bright and beautiful bedroom will make you smile as you walk in the door to be greeted by a bouquet of cheerful yellow sunflowers scattered across the queen-sized bed with its elegant wicker headboard. The matching wicker night table holds a lamp, phone, and AM/FM clock radio. There's a wicker chair for relaxing, and the TV is perched across the room on a pale pine chest of drawers. A lovely print of sunflowers and a blue and white valance over the window that perfectly matches the coverlet ruffle complete the picture.

Just across the hall is a bath with a large corner stand-up shower. A border of sunflowers adorns the top of this room, and a matching blue valance graces the rear window. A set of short shelves by the vanity holds a basket of shells, and a sand toned mat sets off the vinyl flooring.

Bedroom 2 (first level): Bright sealife quilts in sapphire blue, purple, red, yellow, orange, and green dress up the pair of twin beds here; pillow shams and bedskirts are of matching material. A stuffed red crab on one bed and a stuffed turquoise octopus on the other smile their greetings. Call this room your home-away-from-home and nestle in for a movie night with the TV/VCR on the light pine chest. A lamp and clock perch on the night table, and a red balloon valance over the wide window adds a nice touch.

Bedroom 3 (first level): This oceanfront bedroom, with sliding glass doors that open on to the spacious deck, is furnished and decorated identically to Bedroom 2: a pair of twin beds, chest for clothing storage, and night table. On these beds, identical stuffed fish sit upon the pillows, and there is also a white rocking chair.

Bedrooms 2 and 3 are linked by a generously sized bath with double sinks situated in an eight-foot long vanity with a wall mirror spanning the entire length. Bright fish in colors that coordinate with both of the bedrooms frolic on the shower curtain.

Bedroom 4 (first level): Open the sliding glass doors, step out onto the deck, and revel in the sights and sounds of the Atlantic Ocean. Inside, the pickled finish wicker king-sized bed is covered with a geometric print in earth tones--rust, muted gold, turquoise, lavender, and tan on a pale green background. There are two wicker night tables with AM/FM clock radios, a telephone, and a sand lamp. A TV/VCR perches on a tall light pine chest. There is a wide double dresser with mirror and a huge lateral walk-in closet behind double bi-fold doors.

This room's private bath features a wide vanity with double sinks and mirror and an extra-large stand-up shower with glass doors. A shell border in light peach, blue, and green perfectly accents the oyster walls, and a tan and blue bathmat provides the finishing touch.
